REMEMBER the INNOCENTS 1999 The Remember the Innocents campaign was launched December 28, 1999 with the first annual Remember the Innocents Festival in Bethlehem, Palestine. A date commemorated on many liturgical church calendars, December 28 is the traditional Feast of the Innocents, which mourns the innocent children killed by King Herod.
